Individual Therapy in Lake Oswego, OR
Your Path to Focused Healing and Growth
Individual therapy is one hour, one conversation at a time, working through what’s actually going on, not what’s easiest to say out loud.
I work with adults dealing with anxiety, burnout, trauma, relationship stress, and the kind of low-grade feeling that something’s off but you can’t quite name it. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. You just need to be ready to do something about it.
Sessions for individual therapy are in-person in Lake Oswego or via Telehealth across Oregon.
My Approach: Integrating Modalities for Deep and Lasting Change
My practice is founded on the principle that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for mental health. We will work collaboratively to determine the modalities that work best for you so that your treatment plan is personalized, and designed not just for symptom reduction, but for fostering genuine, sustainable internal change.
Struggles I commonly work with:
Anxiety, panic and chronic worry
Trauma, PTS, and cumulative stress
Burnout, overwhelm, and emotional exhaustion
Depression, numbness or los of motivation
Hypervigilence, irritability, or emotional shutdown
Life transitions, identity shifts, or major decisions
Relationship stress and boundary issues
High functioning anxiety and perfectionism
Core Therapeutic Modalities I Utilize in Individual Therapy
Below is a list of a few of the modalities I use along with other somatic and mindfulness work:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) : We offer practical, solution-focused CBT to quickly address dysfunctional thought patterns and impulsive, self-defeating behaviors. This is ideal for managing acute anxiety, anger, and emotional regulation challenges.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy: This powerful, non-pathologizing approach helps clients achieve Self-leadership by understanding and healing their "parts" (inner critic, protective parts, wounded parts). IFS is profound for resolving internal conflict, complex trauma, and deep-seated shame.
Psychodynamic and Relational Therapy: We explore how early life experiences and patterns of attachment influence your current relationships and worldview. Understanding these deeper dynamics helps break chronic, destructive relational cycles and enables you to form more fulfilling connections. Concepts from Carl Jung, John Bolby, and others are applied here.
Gestalt Psychotherapy: The German word "Gestalt" roughly translates to "whole," "pattern," or "form," and this concept is central to the therapy. The primary focus is on the client's experience in the present moment. Past issues are addressed by bringing the feelings and experiences into the "here and now," rather than simply dwelling on the past.
Inner Child work: Don’t get hung up on the title, this work is powerful work and weaves in seamlessly with the above modalities. Inner child work is a therapeutic and self-help process focused on connecting with, acknowledging, and healing the child-like part of the adult psyche.
The "inner child" is the subconscious part of the personality that retains the memories, emotions, and experiences from childhood—especially those from times when the person's core needs (for safety, validation, love, and connection) were unmet or when they experienced trauma or neglect.
Others: I have a wide variety of techniques, skills, and knowledge that I can bring in to help, I don’t want to overkill this page with all the jargon.
